Jessy & Perry. An Intimate Outdoor Wedding.
Perry and Jessy mean the world to me. We’ve been collaborating on art and photography now for the past five years and I consider them to be family. When it came to their wedding day, I knew they were going to approached every aspect with intention and care. The wedding was held on Jessy’s grandmother’s property where she had spent so many memorable moments as a young girl. The reception was in the barn on property and the dinner tables were made by Jessy’s father. Jessy’s brother officiated the ceremony and her step mother made the cake, designed candles, and did the floral decor inside the barn while her grandmother prepared food. All the other family members chipped in and took care of anything and everything that needed to be done to make this day special for them. Every element of this wedding had a significant meaning, but the thing they valued most was simply being in the presence of the people that mean the most to them. It was an absolute honor to be invited to capture this very intimate celebration. I have so much love for these people. I also wanted to highlight the other artists that were involved including Frame Visuals that created a stunning masterpiece of a video for them as well as Katch Silva who shot the day using film cameras. The video can be seen here and Katch’s amazing set of images can be seen here. The floral design for the ceremony was done by the talented Studio Terrain and Jessy’s dress was made by Kala Noel. The music below is by Perry Rhodes (the groom), Gregory Alan Isakov (who was there at Perry’s proposal as a surprise to Jessy), and Keaton Henson.
The wedding day…
Jessy recorded hours of her grandfather telling stories before he passed away in 2013. At the wedding reception, she shared one of her favorite clips from the recordings where he spoke about his love for her Grandma Linda. It was a moment I’ll never forget…
