For Kris & April’s session, they decided to visit some of the places that meant the most to them. Places where they’ve grown closer together and hold sentimental value in their relationship.

We began at the Russian River near Monte Rio where they set out on their gorgeous red canoe. The wood-canvas canoe from the 1920’s was originally built in Guerneville. Kris and his brother used the canoe to fish and explore together. After his brother passed away, Kris completely restored the canoe in his memory. It was in this very canoe that Kris proposed to April.

Our second stop took us out to the coast at Jenner to a camping spot that Kris and April consider their home base when escaping for weekend outings to hike along the coast. They’ve had so many special memories of these trips that coming back is always an overwhelming nostalgic experience.

The final stop was at the Highland Dell Hotel in Monte Rio to enjoy some river front dining and drinks from where we watched the sun dip over the mountains.

It was a magical day.
